Hi friends,

Winter in Idaho might be cold, but it is also downright magical if you know where to go. Whether you are looking to soak in steamy mineral pools, breathe in crisp mountain air or try something new like ice fishing, our Idaho offers a plethora of winter getaway options.

As someone who lives and works in Pocatello, I love helping people find their forever homes. I also love sharing the places I sneak off to when I need a little reset. If you are ready for a winter escape, here are three spots I think you will love, including one that is extra special to me.

  1. Stay in Salmon at My Cozy Airbnb Cabin

I may be a little biased, but this peaceful little spot in Salmon is one of my favorite winter retreats. If you want to unplug and take in the stillness of Idaho’s backcountry, this is the place.

Our Salmon rental cabin is perfect for families, couples or even solo getaways when you need to hit pause. It has all the cozy winter vibes including quiet mornings, snowy walks and hot coffee with mountain views. Whether you are into snowshoeing, wildlife watching or just curling up with a good book, this place offers the perfect setting.

  2. Soak it All In at Lava Hot Springs

An Idaho classic for a reason, Lava Hot Springs is only about an hour from Pocatello. It is a favorite of mine year-round, but in winter it is especially amazing. There is nothing like sitting in a natural hot spring while snow falls around you.

Grab some friends, pack a towel and make the quick drive. The town has small-town Idaho charm, and the hot pools are open throughout the winter.

  3. Try Ice Fishing in Island Park

If you have never gone ice fishing, consider this your sign. Island Park becomes a snow-covered wonderland in winter and the frozen lakes are full of trout just waiting for your line. Whether you are experienced or just curious, it is worth the trip north.

Bring a thermos, layer up and enjoy a quiet slice of Idaho that is hard to beat. If you catch dinner, even better. For more info visit: https://tinyurl.com/23uxj7ep

Let’s Talk Winter Getaways and Dream Homes

As much as I love helping families buy and sell homes here in Eastern Idaho, I also love sharing the experiences that make this place feel like home. If you are thinking about buying a vacation property, investing in short-term rentals or just want tips on where to escape next weekend, I am here to help.

And if you ever stay at the cabin in Salmon, I would love to hear what you think.

Stay warm,
